JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant – AR

Location: Niles, IL

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Duration: Direct Hire

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

+ Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible primarily for the day-to-day operations of the sales accounting area:

+ Perform accounts receivable tasks like invoicing, collecting and applying customer payments

+ Maintain accurate customer AR info in NetSuite

+ Manage and execute collection efforts on overdue balances to drive lower DSO

+ Investigate and resolve customer queries

+ Proactively push for process improvements with all stakeholders

+ Daily cash reconciliation to the bank and month-end close reconciliation in NetSuite

+ Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records as necessary

+ Assist with the month-end close processes, including cutoff review of customer credits

+ P&L analysis and account reconciliation as needed

+ Cross-train with Accounts Payable for support with vendor accounts

+ Provide support for Audit requests from Bank, external Audit team, and Licensors

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Type A, self-motivated, creative out-of-the-box thinker that naturally pushes to constantly improve systems, processes and procedures to minimize non value-added activities

+ Results-oriented (i.e. get stuff done in a fast-paced, multi-location environment)

+ Incredible attention to detail

+ Analytical mindset

+ Willingness to roll-up-your-sleeves and be a hands-on contributor

+ Able to work independently as well as a member of our team

+ Superior organizational and prioritization skills

+ Exceptional oral and written communication skills

+ Tech-Savvy (strong ERP systems background; NetSuite power user)

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

+ CPA and/or MBA is a plus

+ Familiarity with SQL or JavaScript is a plus

+ Must have advanced excel skills — e.g. pivot table, vlookup, indirect, index, etc.
