This role is responsible for supporting the Fair Lending Compliance Program by participating in the fair lending risk assessment, providing training, developing robust monitoring, supporting ADA compliance and key strategic iniatives. In addition, this role will provide functional fair lending oversight to the Enterprise Operations and PayPal/Venmo Teams.
Desired location : All domestic Synchrony US sites
+ Broad-based fair lending knowledge, ability to identify fair lending risk
+ Functional oversight for Enterprise Operations and PayPal/Venmo from a fair lending perspective
+ Support PayPal/Venmo relationship by educating on Fair Lending Program
+ Functional oversight for requested due diligence of new potential clients and products by reviewing provided documentation and identifying fair lending risk in a timely manner
+ Support Fair Lending Program Framework by participating in risk assessment and employee training on identification of fair lending risk
+ Support Strategic Initiatives by integrating with Risk lead on identifying fair lending risk and suggest enhancements to mitigate risk
+ Support ADA questions from the business
+ Community Reinvestment Act oversight
+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
+ Bachelor’s degree, plus 5+ years of work experience in the financial services industry or in lieu of degree, 10 years of financial services experience
+ 3+ years of experience with exposure to fair lending principles and regulatory hot topics within the consumer credit/private label credit card industry
+ 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
+ 3+ years of successful work in a matrixed environment, leading projects and presenting results to senior leaders
+ Industry certification such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
+ Knowledge or willingness to learn machine learning technology (ability to understand where compliance risk exists with ML models) and data visualization options (e.g. Tableau)
+ Enhance controls contained in Tableau and support builds needed to improve the control environment
+ Use of personal influence and credibility to achieve organizational results by collaborating with cross-functional/cross-platform teams
+ Ability to objectively identify risks, effectively challenge and communicate fair lending risks
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to build strong relationships with business partners and to be top of mind when questions arise with business partners
+ Proven ability to influence senior management and initiate change
+ Ability to be forward-thinking in the identification of future risks and work cross-functionally to mitigate identified risks
+ Successful implementation building program framework from a 2nd Line of Defense perspective
+ Experience in internal audit or testing or in a governance function
+ You must be 18 years or older
+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
