Summary

Position Summary

The VP Global Strategist collaborates with US and Global constituents and industry contacts to assess emerging trends for shoppers and retailers. The VP Global Strategist utilizes data insights of future growth to drive strategic choices of what brands, categories, and/or opportunities R2, its clients and customers should pursue. Utilize data analytics to develop insights into future predictive trends to showcase findings to present to management and use for shopper and retail trends decisions. Develops a cohesive internal and global business development strategy that identifies and communicates best practices of emerging trends on shoppers and retailers, with a focus on strategic partnerships. The VP Global Strategist uncovers opportunistic areas for growth in the data, information, research, and analytics space.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

Thought Leadership

· Through research identify emerging trends, insights, categories, and brands of importance to the clients and customers. Identify global shopper and retailer trends, and communicate those trends to business stakeholders

· Develop a cohesive internal and global business development strategy that identifies and communicates best practices of emerging trends on shoppers and retailers, with a focus on strategic partnerships

· Identifies shopper and retailer trends of significance to the leadership team and global partners. Socializes those topics to potential partners and business stakeholders

· Manages and builds partnerships with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders in the Business Intelligence ecosystem

People Management

· Oversees a team of data scientists that use business data, market research, and statistical methods to provide insight into shopper and retailer trends. Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining talent using company-wide processes, tools, and resources

· Execute all aspects of the performance management culture, including development discussions and regular coaching and feedback, Performance Improvement Plan creation and delivery

· Responsible for building and growing a high performing team through strategy sessions providing innovative thoughts and solutions

Strategy

· Proactively work with Ai2 to communicate and foster research and analytics to gather data and deliverables to clients

· Leads strategic-planning process to define the long-term strategy of shopper and retailer trends

· Uncover opportunistic areas for growth in the data, information, research, and analytics space

Client/Customer Trends

· Develop & lead initiatives that help acquire advanced insight and capability for the organization. Examples include:

· Develop, consult & influence the growth of R2 clients and customers

· Strategic support and marketing integration for new business development and acquisitions

· Coaches and consults internal partners on their business plan development

· Develop internal & external marketing & communications strategy for the R2 Global View brand

· Build strong capability in understanding influencer/early adopter consumers

· Synthesize information from various sources to build/create story that will inform client’s thinking and planning

Research and Analytics

· Utilize data/insights of future growth areas to drive strategic choices of what brands, categories, and/or opportunities that R2, its clients and customers should pursue

· Utilize predictive analytics to showcase findings to present to management and use for shopper and retail trends decisions

· Identify data to develop insights and analysis into future predictive trends

· Identifies areas of strategic focus and develops analytical approaches and methodologies

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

- Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job

- Travel up to 40 %

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

: Master’s Degree Or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Marketing, Research, Analytics, or related field

10+ Years of experience in sales & marketing, consumer packages goods, food brokerage, brand management, customer management, category management, retailer marketing and shopper marketing

5+ Years of experience in insights or global engagement

1-3 Years of experience in management
