Senior Scientist with broad, general expertise in toxicology focusing on drug and device product development including discovery/exploratory evaluations, safety and efficacy evaluations, regulatory interaction and product registration activities. As a technical expert, apply an in-depth understanding of toxicology and related disciplines (integrative and systems physiology, PK/PD) and innovative problem solving to address technical challenges and move projects forward. Comfortable to actively manage multiple scenarios analysis. Able to propose new / alternate pathways never tried before and be willing to challenge the status quo. Comfortable with mentoring internal team members and working with external partners globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

+ Recognized for broad toxicology expertise and evidenced by solicitation of input on a variety of issues from across the field. Knows and is known by the leading persons in the field, both academic and industry. Is seen as a role model for others in specific technical discipline.

+ Sought out by other teams and individuals to offer technical advice; act as coach, mentor, and technical advisor to junior nonclinical team members.

+ Consistently executes novel methods, leading-edge techniques and approaches as well as innovative theories and technologies. Lead technical analysis where new and unproven methods and technologies are required.

+ In addition to having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of GxP and related regulations and guidance, provide expert insights into such regulations so as to facilitate efficient product registration and/or is an active participant in the generation, review, adoption and interpretation of such regulations.

+ Understand and integrate information from more than one discipline and apply to complex problems requiring innovative solutions.


+ Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT)

+ Expertise post degree in toxicology and regulatory toxicology risk assessment.

+ Ability to understand and apply global regulatory requirement and guidelines.

+ Good oral and written communication in English language.

+ Must be able to set preclinical direction for the global business unit programs and communicate the requirements to Global Preclinical team members and business R&D leaders.

+ Seeks advice from both external and internal experts in relevant area.

+ Willing to participate & contribute to efforts beyond own scope of responsibilities.

+ Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty; can decide and act without having the total picture.

Education and/or Experience :

MS degree with 20+ year experience, or PhD with 12+ years of relevant experience.
