  1. Job Description

Our client, a global food processing corporation, is looking for a Lab Technician that is open to a rotating shift for a long-term opportunity in Peoria.

As a member of the team, this position would:

+ Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as

production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research

+ Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage and industrial alcohol, to

determine if product meets plant specifications prior to release

+ Release in spec vessels and report out of spec vessels

+ Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers,

etc., and report uncharacteristic results

+ Test and analyze wastewater samples to ensure effluent is within GPSD

discharge limits and report any violations

+ Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab


+ Complete certificates of analysis

+ Prepare chemical solutions for use in lab

+ Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation

+ Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and

employer standards and guidelines

+ Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements

+ Other duties as assigned

  1. Minimum Job Requirements:

+ Ability to work on multiple tasks

+ Good organizational skills

+ Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Demonstrated troubleshooting skills

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice


+ Computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs

+ Demonstrated math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing

  1. Education/Training:

+ 2 or 4 year science degree is preferred, a high school diploma or GED is required
