Job Description

Position Summary

Accounting Data Analyst is responsible for data consolidation, data analysis, and management reporting. Utilizes software to access the data and develop actionable or informative reports. Provides support to other departments or management by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results based on the needs of the end users. Collaborates with various function teams, such as, but not limited to, Retail, Lending, Marketing, or Accounting to achieve business results. Knowledgable in bank accounting, such as reconciliation or financial reporting. Encouraged to be creative and inventive in report preparation. This position reports to the Accounting Data Manager.

Accounting Data Analyst I: At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree is required (preferably in Accounting or Finance). Accounting Data Analyst I is an entry level position that is responsible for at least one of the Accounting Systems and preparing reports or creating accounting entries for this system. They may require some oversight and coaching of their reports and general ledger entries by the Senior Accounting Data Analyst, Accounting Data Manager, Senior Accountant, or Accountant.

Essential Job Functions

  • Works with the bank’s Accounting Data Systems, which include, but are not limited to, the Core Processing System (JHA SilverLake), ZM (ALCO), Profitability, Investments, Deposit 360, S&P Global, Bloomberg, and JHA Know Express (data warehouse)

  • Utilizes report writing tools, such as Cognos, IBM Query, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills to gather the appropriate report requirements to meet the information and deadline needs
  • Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to pressure and change with poise and confidence

Computer Skills Requirements

  • Moderate to Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Jack Henry SilverLake, Cognos, IBM Query (preferred, but not required)

  • Other Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Interest and ability to learn new applications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Master’s Degree in Business preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Bank Accounting
  • CPA, CMGA, CFA are beneficial

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly:  sitting, talking, hearing, vision – close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus

  • Frequently:  reaching with arms and hands

  • Occasionally:  standing, walking, climbing and/or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, feeling/touching, lifting objects up to 30 pounds
