The Computational Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a highly qualified candidate to carry out cutting\-edge research driven by the development and use of extreme\-scale cosmological simulations\. Deep knowledge of particle\-based simulation methods for cosmological hydrodynamics and the ability to work with accelerated computational architectures are necessary requirements for the position\. There will be intensive collaboration with internal and external team members\. The researcher will have access to the supercomputing facilities at ALCF, OLCF, and NERSC, as well as to other systems at Argonne\. The research will be tightly coupled to Argonne participation in the Exascale Computing Project and a number of cosmological surveys including CMB\-S4, DES, DESI, LSST, SDSS, SPHEREx, and SPT\.
+ PhD in theoretical and/or computational physics
+ Strong knowledge of particle\-based simulation methods
+ Strong numerical programming ability in C\, OpenCL, and CUDA; solid familiarity with HIP and SYCL
+ Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to write research reports and publications
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Collaborative skills, including the ability to interact with peers and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
+ Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork
