Description

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager and directly supervised by the Registered Professional Nurse. In collaboration with the care team and under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse, provides data for basic patient care needs and performs technical tasks as delegated by the care team and the patient care needs dictate. Assists in data collection, provides input into the plan of care/Care Profile, reinforces teaching and documents care delivered.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate of completion in a certified nursing assistant program or enrolled in an ADN or BSN program with documented completion of one year of medical/surgical nursing required.
  • Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS CPR or approved equivalent (must include infant through adult, one and two-man rescuer, use of AED, and choking with hands-on CPR skills return demonstration, and must be pre-approved by Org Dev/Human Resources) completed prior to employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform CNA skills (checklist certified by nursing instructor at current school of nursing or via RN in unit orientation).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year hospital experience.
