Performs a variety of duties including answering, screening and transferring phone calls using OSFMG telephone protocols. Schedules appointments and completes registration for patients. Provides each caller with an excellent experience by demonstrating superior customer service skills. Demonstrates effective use of computer systems. Communicates with other departments in a constructive, positive manner.
Completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
Basic computer keyboarding skills including typing 35 words a minute, with 90% accuracy.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills with professional voice and tone.
Possesses telephone and problem solving skills.
Must have patient advocacy skills,
Must be self reliant and independent in decision making and have the ability to work in a team environment.
1 year work experience in a medical office setting is strongly preferred.
1 year experience in a customer service related field; which includes heavy phone work is preferred.
