Apex Systems, the Nation’s 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has an opening for a Project Manager with the fifth-largest wireless telecommunications network company location in Chicago (Rosemont), IL
Position will be assisting leaders that are acquiring a new team from a different part of the business. The team is responsible for business solutions, IOT, value add services. Project Managers will be conducting interviews to understand current processes with team members, complete process mapping on current and future state processes with VP leadership’s direction. They should be able to bridge gap between old/new processes, complete process definition, and from a project management standpoint.
Ability to present, communicate, articulate to senior leaders
Telecom experience is preferred and not required
Telecom environment skillset, understanding software/service hardware management,
Strong communication/collaboration skills
Standard Microsoft Suite Experience, Powerpoint, Visio,
Team would like to move quickly, will conduct a phone interview followed by face to face
The Project Manager will lead small to intermediate sized project teams and may occasionally act as sub-team lead for large projects. Ensures timely and accurate completion of assigned duties and responsibilities of the team members to meet the project and executive leaderships’ expectations.
Leads and/or participates in managing project integration, scope, time, costs and quality and communicates the status, risk and issues associated with each to the correct level(s) within the project structure and the organization to ensure that the project outcomes are achieved as defined, within budget and on time.
•Creates risk management plan to identify, analyze, monitor and respond to risks associated with the project to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget.
•Leads activities required to complete project documents: project plan, project charter, scope, and project schedules.
•Obtains appropriate level of approval for all project documentation and/or sub teams assigned to enusre appropriate understanding of expectations among all stakeholders.
•Develops project cost estimates and budgets for assigned projects and initiates cost control measures to ensure projects budgets are met.
•Communicates project status to team and business owners throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the project.
• Occasionally assumes responsibility for procurement management related to the project to ensure proper selection, contract development and contract administration for vendors used during the project.
• Undergraduate degree or comparable experience required.
• Two or more years project management experience required.
• Three or more years of functional experience required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creates an environment that motivates, inspires and respects others.
• Ability to build team cohesiveness to achieve results.
• High organization and planning skills.
• Ability to self start and be versatile in a dynamic environment.
