Position Summary

Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing, scoring, analysis and associated interventions under the general oversight of the chief polysomnographic technologist and/or the medical director. Adheres to AASM guidelines and to departmental policies and procedures when performing job duties.


Enrollment in an A-Step program – OR; Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography – OR; Successful completion of a Polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited facility OR; Equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic technician.


No Experience Required

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Basic Life Support (BLS)-Required

A-Step program enrollment with completion and registry within 1 year of hire OR; Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) within 1 year of hire – OR; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) within 1 year of hire-Required

Must meet eligibility requirements for certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist /Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent-Required
