Overview

Position Summary

Responsible for resolving outstanding unpaid and/or unprocessed medical claims and denied claims submitted to third-party payors. Requires accessing third-party payor web sites, placing outgoing phone calls, accepting incoming phone calls, sending and receiving facsimiles, and sending and receiving correspondence to and from third-party payors and various government agencies at the local, county, state and federal levels. Explains statements to patients, assists patients in applying for financial assistance, and frequently interfaces with collection agencies.

Payor/Insurance Follow up-Preferred

Must be proficient in resolving aging AR, and outstanding bad debt; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Above average telephone, communication and diplomacy skills.
