Job Description

Seeking a Senior Field Service Technician in Milwaukee, WI or anywhere in U.S. working locally or remotely.

This is a Direct Hire opportunity with an industrial oven and furnace manufacturer; headquarters is in the Milwaukee, WI area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide the highest level of support and handling the most difficult or advanced problems
- Maintain technical service expertise to assist in the research and development of solutions to new or unknown problems
- Demonstrate high level electrical wiring and controls knowledge and possess a broad mechanical understanding and background
- Electrical: 3 phase wiring, control wiring, understanding of limit switches, pressure and flow sensors and transducers, proximity switches, level sensors, trouble-shooting of single and 3 phase wiring, set-up of temperature controller, set-up of variable frequency drives, use basic volt/amp/ohm meters
- Mechanical: read and understand blueprints and schematics, basic of alignment of conveyor shafts, basic of bearing installation, alignment and lubrication, tensioning and aligning v-belt and chain drives, know how to use: basic power and hand tools
- Install, inspect and start-up company manufactured equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings
- Service all company products at customer sites; test, troubleshoot and adjust as needed
- Use various gauges, meters and electrical testing equipment to check specifications

- Strong mechanical, electrical, technical skills
- Mechanical, new commissioning experience (any industry); face of the customer – only personnel onsite sometimes work with local crews
- Electrical, could be house wiring; wiring motor in plant
- Understand PLC programs; no writing of PLC programs
- Furnace, heat treating, direct oven experience
- Computer skills, knowledge of laptops for reporting (Word, Excel)
- Conveyor experience preferred
- Travel: 60%-80% (international is only about 5%)
- Not required to live in Milwaukee, WI; if out of state, will work from home when not on the road at customer visits (catching up on report writing, prepping for future trips); if no work and living remotely, get paid 40 hours
- Must have passport
- Background check and a drug screen
- No education requirement
- Work an average of 45-50 hours a week
- Issued company credit card for rental car
- Per Diems $55/day for food on expense reports and miles to and from airport
