As a Acquisition Program Manager at the NH-1101-3/4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Assessing progress in assigned Information Technology projects/programs including cost estimates, schedules and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and procedures. Planning, organizing and coordinating activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, program control, configuration/data management, test and logistics. Reviewing and directing the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives. Planning, organizing, and overseeing program management activities of the command. Interpreting DoD and Service unique acquisition, logistics, and program management directives. Making periodic and comprehensive assessment and evaluation of program goals and objectives to provide a basis for long range planning. Representing the Command Acquisition Office on program related matters at higher levels within the organization, DoD and with contractor organizations.
Conditions of Employment
You may qualify at the NH-III , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-II (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Planning, organizing, and coordinating activities of functional specialists to contracting, engineering, program control, configuration/data management, test, and logistics Providing input into source selection and contractors monitoring of acquisition phases from development through production and development You may qualify at the NH-IV , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-III (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Developing complete strategic and tactical plans to support assigned acquisition programs Implementing and controlling contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project though designated phases of the acquisition cycle Providing guidance, advisory support and assistance on a wide range of management issues Planning, organizing, and directing the organization with responsibility for the development of major aspects of key Air Force programs of national significant and/or essential operating programs Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Other Notes: May be a CRITICAL ACQUISITION POSITION (CAP). Selectee for this position will be required to sign a written agreement to remain, for a minimum of three years, in the federal service in this critical acquisition position. ACQUISITION POSITION: This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level III Certification, but not essential prior to hiring, must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position.
