Applications Engineers work to develop processes to enhance customer production by utilizing product analysis and demonstrations. In collaboration with sales they will prepare and carry out marketing efforts for the purpose of securing business from prospective customers. On a day to day basis the Applications Engineer will analyze and develop manufacturing processes, determine best training methodologies for customers and build demonstration techniques in an effort to improve/enhance the performance of industrial machinery. Utilize their ability to operate, program and troubleshoot full line of Mitsubishi laser machines and laser automation systems. Work with customers to optimize the usage of the machine and apply their particular needs and settings. Ability to independently diagnose and treat a variety of problems or situations and modify as deemed necessary.
·Develop and analyze customer needs and prepare demonstrations and reports for pre-sales activities for sales and potential and current customers.
·Provide high power processing training to customers (and in some events other MC Machinery employees) with the overall intention of instructing and/or recommending methods that will improve and/or enhance the performance of the machinery and optimize its usage for their particular needs.
·Review, evaluate, and resolve machine maintenance and applications-related problems at customer sites with the overall intention of improving and enhancing the performance of the customer’s milling machinery.
·Exercise discretion and independent judgment to evaluate, diagnose, and provide timely, appropriate responses and resolutions to customer reports, and as necessary, determine who else at MC Machinery to involve in customer problem solving.
·Increase sales and MC Machinery revenue by identifying customer opportunities for sales.
·Collaborate with applications personnel to develop and implement marketing strategies.
·Create solutions for customers in addressing machine maintenance and applications-related problems.
·Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
·Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent.
·5 Year’s minimum experience in a pre-sales position in machinery or manufacturing.
·5 Years’ experience operating, programming, or repairing laser machinery.
Job operates mainly indoors, but is exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this type of job.
