Job Description

Position Summary

Mortgage Loan Processors process approved mortgage loan applications and follow established lending policies and
procedures. Development in this role is progressive and begins with Mortgage Loan Processor I, which involves mastering preparation of preliminary disclosures, ordering services and facilitating communication between Originators and Underwriters. All Heartland Bank Mortgage Loan Processors are multi-functional, customer-oriented individuals who rely on instructions and pre-established procedures to perform the functions of this job. They work under the immediate supervision of the Mortgage Loan Processor Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to

  • Process mortgage loan applications utilizing Bank software
  • Prepare and deliver compliant preliminary disclosure packages for all mortgage loan products
  • Order services, including but not limited to, flood determinations, title commitments, credit reports, address verifications, employment verifications and appraisals
  • Organize loan files by processing documents received from applicants in preparation for underwriting
  • Set up document requirements and loan structure in imaging and tracking software
  • Maintain pipeline report and notify management of status as needed
  • Monitor team Outlook mailbox and facilitate communications between Mortgage Originators, Underwriters, Processors, and other external parties
  • Assist in the prevention, detection and resolution of mortgage fraud

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills with interest and ability to learn new applications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent of education and experience
  • 2 -3 years Mortgage Loan Processing experience preferred
  • 2-3 year Retail Banking experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly: reaching with arms and hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, talking, feeling/touching, vision – close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus, lifting objects up to 30 pounds
  • Frequently: standing, walking, hearing
  • Occasionally: sitting, climbing and/or balancing
