  • Actuarial Analyst II**


Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks an Actuarial Analyst II to apply advanced statistical techniques to create and/or update predictive models for use in one or more areas of the business in claims and underwriting. Specific duties include: use appropriate modeling techniques to build models designed to solve business problems; contribute to the continuous improvement of the modeling process; perform appropriate evaluation of model performance; broaden knowledge and application of advanced modeling techniques and procedures; deepen knowledge of insurance industry practices in one or more disciplines; support the resolution of complex tasks; develop various programs including predictor and response variable programs; review programs to ensure they confirm to quality standards; provide guidance and coordinate tasks of less experienced analysts; and present analytical insights to Predictive Modelers and business tool end users. Must be an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS). Position requires occasional travel within the U.S.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered, or as an Actuarial Analyst, or similar position. Specific experience must include 3 years in Property and Casualty insurance; 2 years in building generalized linear model; and 1 year in commercial insurance including experience working with large account underwriters. Specific experience must also include each of the following: SAS; VBA; Advanced Excel; building insurance claims (frequency and severity) and reserving model; and leading cross-functional insurance modeling project. Must be an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS). Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S.
