Senior Actuarial Analyst II, Portfolio Analytics


Zurich North America is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst II for our Portfolio Analytics Team based in our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The Senior Actuarial Analyst II and Portfolio Analytics Team are part of the Zurich North American Actuarial Pricing organization. The Senior Actuarial Analyst II is primarily responsible for two key areas, supporting the Country Underwriting Plan (CUP) and Tiering. The Country Underwriting Plan (CUP) delivers a forward-looking profitability assessment used to align underwriting strategy and financial plan.

Country Underwriting Plan (CUP) responsibilities include:

+ Work collaboratively with Finance, Actuarial, Technical Teams and other stakeholders to support the CUP process and analyses

+ Design and deliver standardized meeting template to support SBU and BU CUP communication

+ Design and maintain tools and reporting process to visualize CUP data and drive efficiency

+ Prepare ZNA level presentation for executive audiences

+ Support Group level deliverables

Tiering duties and responsibilities include:

+ Partner with stakeholders to develop tiering plans for assigned businesses to support achievement of financial plan targets

+ Support tiering process and maintain tiering infrastructure including central data management tools and IT releases

+ Maintain and enhance data visualization tools for Tiering reports and monitoring.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaAND

+ FCAS or equivalent international certificationOR

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaAND

+ ACAS or equivalent international certification

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Actuarial pricing, analytics, and planning experience

+ Successful history of collaboration

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
