WSP is currently initiating a search for a Risk Manager for our Chicago, Illinois office

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Develop and implement effective risk management documentation;

+ Manage the risk management process including risk identification, assessment, analysis, mitigation planning, and tracking of identified risks;

+ Undertake quantitative analysis for both cost and schedule;

+ Establish project risk performance metrics;

+ Proactively interface with multi-disciplinary team of engineers, managers, sub-consultants and clients in the identification, assessment, management and reporting of risk exposure;

+ Work with the project controls team to incorporate risk in the cost and schedule assessments and establishing contingencies; and

+ Facilitate risk workshops.

Minimum Qualifications

+ 15+ years’ experience in risk management working for construction or engineering firm, preferably Transportation/Infrastructure projects;

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field;

+ Demonstrated working knowledge of cost risk analysis software (@Risk or Crystal Ball etc.) and schedule risk analysis software (Primavera Risk Analysis etc.);

+ Experience in conceptualizing and developing risk models using analytical methods;

+ Demonstrated experience in developing and running integrated models combining cost and schedule information;

+ Proven experience in effectively reporting and communicating risk analysis outcomes to wider project team; and

+ Confidence to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff.

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with Federal Transit Authority’s (FTA’s) and Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA’s); risk oversight procedures and processes;
