Our retail group operates destination, standalone retail real estate globally, including over 150 malls in the United States. Our regional shopping centers create a sense of place in the heart of the communities in which we do business: offering retail, lifestyle, dining and entertainment options.
We are seeking an experienced IT Accounting Program Director to join our team at Brookfield Properties to deliver to our Accounting Department. This role requires a person that blends strong strategic and business acumen with technical leadership in delivery and execution of Accounting and Financial based applications. The primary areas of focus will be General Accounting, Financial Reporting, AP, AR, Treasury, and Credit. The Program Director will have the following responsibilities:
+ Be the champion to gain support and acceptance for new initiatives and ongoing improvements within impacted IT and business leadership teams.
+ Lead and execute, as required, projects in support of the overall program.
+ Prepare, monitor, and control the annual operating budgets to ensure expenditure is in line with the business and IT plans.
+ Maintain on-going assessment of latest trends, vendors, and new technology products in the Accounting application domains and apply these learnings to future state program needs.
+ Be a great people manager. Manage and develop the IT program team through both direct and matrix reporting. This includes product owners, managers, business and technical analysts, and support.
+ Ensure program activities align and operate within policies, procedures and governance of broader IT architecture, security, infrastructure and overall delivery capabilities.
+ Responsible for key vendor relationships and contract management associated with the program.
+ Oversee successful engagement with all third party outsourced partners.
+ Primary point of engagement for demand planning and demand management conversations with business partners around their needs.
+ Partner with Application Development, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure shared services to ensure resource allocation and timely delivery of program commitments.
+ Defines, tracks, and communicates department KPIs to improve the applications’ adoption and performance. Liaison with Service Desk accordingly.
+ Manage quarterly audit requests and reaffirmation of rights reviews for department’s applications.
+ Ensure company’s Cybersecurity requirements are met for all Accounting applications.

+ Bachelor’s degree in business or other technology or related discipline.
+ 3+ years’ experience in a Program Manager or similar position with direct business engagement and multiple technology applications supported.
+ 6+ years of significant project management expertise leading multiple, simultaneous initiatives and teams.
+ Successful financial management of large IT projects and programs.
+ Experience with industry leading Accounting tools such as JD Edwards, Concur, Alusta, and Kyriba.
+ Strong relationship manager and builder.
+ Experience developing market and competitor technology analysis and business domain analysis.
+ Proven ability to influence and lead with and without authority.
+ Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with business partners, peers and management.
+ Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced, changing work environment.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, dealing with project challenges and leading the team to resolution, and listening.
Nice to Have:
+ Background in Accounting or Finance.
+ Prior experience in real estate and/or applications.
+ Agile Experience.
