This is a full time exempt position.

Position Summary:

The Utilities Superintendent position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the Utility Building and related assets and supervising the operations workforce.

The Utilities Superintendent reports to the Facilities Management Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Proactively work to ensure that all ADM employees, contractors, vendors and visitors understand and comply with all ADM safety policies and procedures

+ Demonstrates safety leadership through active participation in all safety processes as well as ensuring colleagues are engaged and committed to the benefits of working safe

+ Actively promote, lead, support and fully participate in the Performance Excellence process in the Facilities Management department and BioProducts facility through use of KPI’s, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence concepts

+ Ensure the correct utilization, operation and maintenance of equipment to support plant production and cost targets

+ Manage the Utilities operations team to resolve problems at department level whenever possible and deliver regular feedback that is effective, consistent and fair

+ Provide positive reinforcement to colleagues observed demonstrating safe work habits andproducing expected results the right way

+ Identify knowledge and skill gaps in operations and facilitate training and continuing education to realize plant and department performance

+ Administrative duties to include managing department related controlled documents, review of operations paperwork, operator scheduling and time-off approval, compliance related documentation and audits, purchasing of supplies and materials and performance of compliance related audits and inspections

+ Work cooperatively and effectively with operations, maintenance, compliance and plant leadership teams

Job Requirements:

+ Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture by being an active participant in safety programs

+ The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree or its equivalent with 3-5 years’ of experience in a supervisory role

+ Strong knowledge of plant operations in one or more departments

+ Effective leadership that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve organizational goals

+ Strong prioritizing and organizational skills

+ Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with colleagues at all levels

+ Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

+ Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products, PI and Maximo

· Position requires walking potentially long distances, standing, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces and working within extreme temperatures.
