Position Summary:

The Information Desk Customer Service Assistant greets and assists Carle patients, visitors and customers and transports them from the entrances of Carle to their destinations via wheelchair or by foot if capable. Gives directions and answers questions about the Carle complex and community. Develops and maintains great public relations skills.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS None Specified. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS None Specified. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two (2) years experience working with the public.

Essential Functions:

+ Assists patients using a wheelchair when appropriate

+ Calms patients and visitors expressing understanding and empathy

+ Completes incident reports on injuries and helps care for injured

+ Greets and welcomes patients, visitors and staff

+ Provides telephone assistance to upset/confused patients

+ Refers patients to appropriate physician, appointments, or department; gives directions and information as needed or accompanies the patient to the correct destination

+ Remains knowledgeable of new physicians and specialty areas

+ Retrieve wheelchairs from all areas

+ Responds to ambulatory and procedural department transport requests
