As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Laboratory Assistant to perform analytical testing for our Fire Protection Team in Northbrook, IL!

As a Senior Laboratory Assistant you will help with building sets for tests, examine results, and you will work closely with our Engineers and other lab members to work towards our common goal; ensuring a safer world!
What you’ll learn & achieve:
+ You will assist in building and/or adapting setup and test equipment to new situations, as directed. Assist in performing tests using general laboratory equipment. Perform routine care of designated test equipment and work area. Operate a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
+ You will examine test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor and designated staff. Develop knowledge of applicable test requirements, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints and operational instructions.
+ You will operate designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
+ You will receive instructions and reports data to supervisor and personnel in engineering and laboratory operations as needed. Assist in recording observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms.
+ Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
+ Performs other duties as directed.
What makes you a great fit:
+ HS Diploma or GED equivalency required.
+ Mechanical aptitude required.
+ Ability to navigate and use UL systems and technologies. Strong computer skills preferred.
+ Ability to use a respirator (required).
