Title: School of Radiology Program Coordinator, Rockton Ave., Day shift, 80 Hrs/2 wks

  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of curricular goals and objectives while maintaining full accreditation through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Essential duties and Responsibilities

  • Assure effective program operation byOverseeing the coordination of the clinical and didactic educational goals
    Providing academic advising
    Working with HR to hire faculty and staff that will support the program’s mission and goals
    Mentoring faculty to assure quality education for the students
    Address student incidents, failures and issues
    Work with program faculty and staff to establish a program schedule
    Maintain records and submit written reports as required by administration and accreditation agencies
  • Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
  • Provide the leadership role in the continued development and ongoing assessment of the program
  • Assure that student admissions are in accord with published practices
  • Develop and evaluate policies and procedures as they relate to the program
  • Oversee curriculum development; assure appropriate level and current content of objectives and instructionRevises course content as necessary by working with and assuring that all faculty stay current in required curricular components of courses being taught
  • Work with faculty to Assure that all student receive equitable and well-rounded clinical and didactic education
    Review all student evaluations in the clinical setting
    Determine changes within the students’ clinical education as necessary
    Necessary changes within the students’ clinical education are effectively implemented
  • Maintain students records as required by state, federal and accreditation standards
  • Work with and develop an effective working relationship with the advisory committee to ensure a high quality program
  • Assure that the sponsoring institution’s policies safeguard the health and safety of students
  • Documents that the program’s energized laboratories are in compliance with applicable state and federal radiation safety laws
  • Instruct classes as determined and assigned in consultation with all faculty members of the programMaintain syllabi, course objectives, class schedule for each class taught
  • Ensures students are thoroughly prepared for taking the national registry examination (ARRT) and for employment

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited radiography program
Masters degree required, doctoral degree preferred
Three years experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program
Five years clinical experience as a registered radiographer
Proficient in supervision, instruction, evaluation and guidance
Experience in curriculum development and instructional methodologies preferred


ARRT Radiography Registration
ARRT Advanced Registration preferred
Illinois radiographer license (IEMA-DNS)
