Job Description

Software Engineering Manager, Analytics and Trading Solutions, FactSet Research Systems, Inc., Chicago, IL: Manages a team of software engineers and/or projects within the Analytics and Trading Solutions department. Duties will include: Review product requirement documents; problem solving and working on high-level (operational or architectural) issues to ensure effectiveness of products under your direct management; implements and tracks development timelines, and negotiates feature sets with development leads and product teams; sets goals and mentors development of ongoing projects; provides guidance and direction to team on software design and implementation; reviews code changes and submissions; presents technical & operational issues to senior management and sets deadlines and priorities for team members; helps to coordinate recruiting, training and new hire onboarding for immediate team. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field and 2 years of software engineering industry experience working with the following technologies: C++, Linux, GDB, STL, CxxUnit, Boost, Profiling tools (Valgrind, etc), JSON, Emacs, Vim, Perforce, Git, memcacheD, C and Bash. Must also have experience with Object Oriented Programming, Multi-threaded Programming and Parallel & Distributed Systems. Must have proven experience with developing and supporting new applications, calculation engines, and underlying infrastructure for portfolio construction, portfolio analysis, portfolio reporting, quantitative model building, risk analysis, and fixed income analysis, as well as front-end application development, working on incremental product feature additions, diagnosis and resolution of client bugs and issues, implementation of financial models, and loading of client and third-party data.
