Job Description

Position Summary: At Great Wolf, the Buyer & Product Developer brings joy to families through providing strategic oversight and leadership for Retail and Merchandising development, design, planning and operations. This role is critical in executing on business requirements, supporting the lodge teams, and interacting with guest and pack members to enhance their experience and maximize profitability
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic oversight for the GWL Retail operation, leads assortment development, liquidation, and vendor communications which ensure optimization of all lodge programming, business, safety and service standards
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and developments through research, travel and attendance at industry related trade shows
  • Works closely with marketing and sales to ensure appropriate Retail tie-ins to seasonal events, character development, and other brand initiatives
  • Collaborates with the various appropriate corporate department and lodge leadership in performance management of the department and its Pack Members
  • Assists in new-lodge retail development and setup including fixture development and design, store layout, and on-site management of set execution
  • Serves as primary point of contact for Retail suppliers to ensure timely updates around compliance, deliveries and safety protocols to ensure safety of Pack and Guest
  • Provides coaching, encouragement, and recognition to pack members regularly
  • Serves as primary liaison between retail lodge operations and corporate retail team
    Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years previous experience in retail product development, planning and design.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and general software systems; high proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated customer service, conflict resolution, employee engagement, retention and team building skills
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English
  • Some travel required
    Desired Qualifications & Traits:
  • Bachelor s degree in related field
  • Experience in a previous retail or hospitality leadership role
