This is a warehouse position responsible for operating a cherry picker or forklift, selecting the correct products from warehouse racking, labeling, palletizing product as it is selected to build customer orders. In addition, the role entails delivering product to the dock in a safe and efficient manner, following work orders that are provided on paper. The Order Selectors would work in different climates from areas (hot, humid, dry, ambient, or cold). The products selected may include full pick (cases) & display cartons. master pack (partial case) or unit picks (individual products). The Selectors must be able to maintain an expected work pace and meet minimum productivity guidelines. This position requires working Monday thru Friday from 3:00 PM until 1:30 AM and/or until all product is accurately selected and loaded. Overtime hours and working weekends and holidays may be are required in order to successfully fill customers’ orders.

Salary: 13.50 per hr.

Work Hours: The work schedule is 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain merchandise from pallet racking.
Read orders to ascertain catalog numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise.
Place merchandise pallets to wrapping areas. Automated and/or manual wrap wand to wrap pallets.
Operate powered industrial trucks (cherry picker and forklift) to maneuver through the warehouse to locate products for picking.
Select and load products from warehouse storage onto pallets following a work or pick order to prepare product loads for shipping to customer locations.
Inspect product for quality assurance, including integrity of packaging and visible signs of damage.
Apply knowledge of product location to efficiently gather all products for route or load.
Communicate with fellow employees for safe transport of goods throughout the warehouse.
Stack product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (for example, no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc.).
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain clean work environment, which may include picking up trash or cleaning spills.
Requires working overtime hours, working occasional weekends (Sat, 6AM-12PM), and holidays.
Requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions.
Other duties may be assigned
18+ years of age
Pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screening, Background Check, Physical Abilities Test).
The employee must be proficient in English. Bilingual: Spanish a plus.
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
3 months’ warehouse experience
3 months’ experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift
Work Environment: The work environment is indoors. The employee may be exposed to variable temperatures. The floors may be concrete. Moderate to High noise levels occur in the warehouse with powered industrial truck horns operating for safety.
Physical and Mental Demands: Medium to heavy lifting, with occasional exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. On an infrequent basis the employee lifts up to 70 pounds of bulk product with assistance. This may not occur on a daily basis. This job also requires constant standing and walking. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols; know product loads and spatial relations to effectively and safely stage products for loading.
