Consult with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to discuss, formulate, estimate and resolve pricing issues.
Determine costs for materials and labor needed to complete jobs
Determine timing, material and labor needed
Interfaces with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly and test to understand and communicate design to cost bill of material structure, cost requirements, and actions to be addressed by the project team.
Assembles and populates Design to Cost (DTC) document with existing costs, and provides estimates for new items when appropriate.
Develop and maintain cost standards.
Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives for tooling, processes, and lead times.
KNOWKEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Experience related to positions in machining or fabricating industry. Manufacturing Background.
CNC or machining process knowledge.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOM). Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
Ability to compile and analyze multiple sources of data and identify relevant data so that a single best course of action can be taken.
General knowledge of cost accounting practices and reporting systems
Basic project management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and excels in communicating with individuals and groups.
Cost reduction experience.
