Job Description

The Danaher Business System (DBS) is our proven system for achieving success. DBS is a philosophy, set of values, and series of management processes that collectively define who we are and how we do what we do at Danaher. Our DBS tools are designed to help us excel in the areas of Growth, Leadership, and Lean, building on a strong foundation of DBS fundamentals (Voice of Customer,

Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual & Daily Management).

Major Responsibilities

+ Lead and facilitate the development and management of growth initiatives to achieve annual targets, Policy Deployment (PD), and strategic plan objectives. Develop and continuously improve processes within Sales, Service, Marketing, and BU organizations.

+ Link business needs and opportunities to DBS and develop a roadmap to close gaps, install/improve process, and sustain results. Leverage a solid understanding of DBS Fundamentals combined with key commercial processes such as Funnel Management, Transformative Marketing, and Growth Rooms/Daily Management to achieve goals.

+ Create DBS Visual Management to drive visibility to kaizen funnel and sustainment, DBS Certified Practitioner (CP) status and plans, active Problem Solving Process (PSP) initiatives and learning/training opportunities available to Leica Biosystems associates. Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen projects. Ensure effective sustainment of results and drive problem solving as needed to close gaps to targets.

+ Lead commercial teams to install and drive good daily management (DM) and problem solving processes (PSP) to find root cause and countermeasure for driving/delivering growth plans.

+ Lead Sales, Service, Marketing, and BU leaders to deploy, improve, and sustain standard work that support metrics around a Holistic View of Commercial (HVC), including, Transformative Marketing (including Market Visibility & Segmentation, Demand Creation, Digital Marketing, and Lead Management), Sales Management (including Funnel Management, Strategic Selling, forecasting, sales training, and sales effectiveness) and Service / Post-Sales Support (including Service delivery, training, and contract renewals).

+ Identify Danaher and Leica Biosystems best practices, standardize and install across regions. Benchmark and incorporate best practices.

+ Train and install foundational capabilities in PD, Action Planning, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management. Work with central and regional organizations to create KPI bowlers and Visual Management to sustain commercial process improvement.

+ Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Augment with other sources of training and coaching (Danaher Corporate DBS Office (DBSO), outside sources). Improve DBS training and facilitation by pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others. Evaluate and approve other associates for tool certification

Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture. Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Danaher organization. This

person will be high energy and able to handle conflict. Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, everchanging environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

+ BS or BA Degree in Business or equivalent

+ 5+ years of commercial, sales, product management or marketing experience with demonstrated success in a global environment

+ Ability to analyze commercial capabilities, identify root cause and growth tool opportunities; has the skills necessary to be seen as credible by peers and managers in commercial areas

+ Knowledge of key DBS growth tools: Transformative Marketing, Voice of Customer (VOC), Customer Segmentation, Demand Generation, Funnel Management, Value Selling, Pricing Margin Management (or non-DHR equivalents)

+ Proven ability to consistently deliver business results

+ Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view; effective at structured problem solving and critical thinking

+ Ability to work with functions in the implementation of the DBS roadmap and implement key growth initiatives; successfully drives change, handles conflict / ambiguity

+ Mastery of fundamental DBS or continuous improvement tools

+ Superior skills in communications, training / adult learning, consulting / influencing; teamwork across disciplines, regions, and cultures

+ Demonstrated proficiency in time management and action plan development and execution

Preferred Capabilities

+ Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent with 8+ years of commercial, sales, or marketing experience with demonstrated success

+ Knowledge of key DBS growth tools: Transformative Marketing, Voice of Customer (VOC), Customer Segmentation, Demand Generation, Funnel Management, Value Selling, Pricing Margin Management (or non-DHR equivalents)

+ Hands-on experience implementing improvements in a continuous improvement (DBS, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.), line management or consulting role

+ Experience managing people and/or projects

+ Fluency in a variety of different languages (e.g., German, Spanish, French, etc)

+ Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments

+ This role may be based in one of the Leica Biosytems locations or may be remote with more frequent travel.
