Responsibilities

The Database Management Lead will play a key role in advising the client on leading data management practices. Our client has the unique need on making financial information operationally relevant and providing insights to senior leadership.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to roll up their sleeves and dig into complex data problems and develop solutions that will have a major impact on a multi-billion dollar operation.

The core challenge for the Database Manager will be to come into a complex data environment with data feeds from multiple systems where data quality has been an issue. Guidehouse is looking for a candidate that has the capability to both understand the client’s logistics business, how that integrates with financial information, and provide cleansed data sets/business rules/documentation/tools that analysts can use to do their jobs better/faster.

Qualifications

Qualifications – Required

The candidate should be deeply familiar with Data Warehouse implementation methodologies and technologies and have prior experience delivering full suite implementations. Candidate should also understand cloud technologies and have experience architecting and implementing solutions in a cloud environment.

+ Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar quantitative discipline

+ Minimum Years of Experience Required: 5 years of experience

+ Advanced knowledge of SQL

+ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an effective manner to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders

+ Ability to lead technical teams in the implementation of solutions to address client issues.

+ Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit

+ Desire to assist in building a business focused on helping clients improve their return on investment for Data Warehouse technologies

Qualifications – Desired

+ Preferred Years of Experience: 5-10+ years of experience

+ Proficiency in project management methodologies, especially as they pertain to project set-up and initiation

+ Detailed oriented and highly organized

+ Ability to organize, perform and track multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present to executive leadership

+ Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team and effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared organizational goals

+ Capability to deal with ambiguities and operate in a fast-paced environment requiring minimal supervision

+ Capability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex client problems

+ Capability to articulate complex concepts in a compelling manner written, visually, and verbally

+ Capability to drive innovation and collaborate within a high performing team environment

+ Capability to confidently raise various risks with the senior management and offer mitigation strategies

Additional Requirements
