Roosevelt University, College of Science, Health & Pharmacy, Schaumburg, IL, is seeking applications for a full-time year-round non- tenure track Assistant Professor position with clinical responsibilities focusing on Internal Medicine. This faculty position includes teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities. The clinical practice site will be on the Internal Medicine team, Rush University Medical Center.

Position responsibilities include teaching and coordinating assigned didactic courses, additional teaching as assigned by the department chair, establishing a clinical practice, serving as a preceptor and role model for students, mentoring pharmacy and medical residents, collaborative clinical and academic research or other scholarly activity appropriate for a non-tenure track position, and service to the department, college, university, and community.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

The successful candidate must possess superior clinical skills, demonstrate effective communication skills, a commitment to interprofessional practice and education, a record of excellence in didactic and experiential teaching, and interest in engaging in College and University faculty governance. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to professional collaboration and be dedicated to the core values of University and College including diversity and inclusivity, enlightenment and awareness, integrity and civility, adaptability and transformation, and knowledge and wisdom.
To be hired as an Assistant Clinical Practice Professor, a candidate (1) must have a Pharm.D. degree, (2) must have a minimum of either three (3) years of teaching and/or clinical experience or one (1) year of post-graduate training, and (3) should also show evidence of a high level of competence in a specialty and demonstrate progress toward excellence in service, in addition to instruction, research, or practice (collectively, “Assistant NTT Rank requirements”).

To be hired as an Associate Clinical Practice Professor, a candidate must satisfy the Assistant NTT Rank requirements and also have a minimum of six (6) years of combined teaching and clinical experience (with evidence of a minimum of three (3) years of excellence in teaching in a higher education and/or clinical setting).

Preferred Qualifications:

For Assistant Professor, preferred qualifications include PGY2 specialty training in internal medicine or related clinical field or 2 additional years’ experience as inpatient clinical pharmacist is highly desirable.

For Associate Professor, preferred qualifications include extensive clinical experience in internal medicine or a related clinical specialty; didactic and clinical teaching experience in a college of pharmacy or college of medicine; record of scholarly work in clinical or pedagogical research
