Currently, DPRA is searching for Transportation Planning and Analysis Specialist in our TRANSCOM client site at Scott AFB in Illinois. This position provides site support for the Joint Flow and Analysis System for Transportation (JFAST) in the following areas:

Support for planning events and force flow/rotation conferences. Technical support to real-world events and force flow conferences to include application administration, software troubleshooting, and training.

Exercise Support. Functional user support for command post exercises including planning support and coordination with operators and administrators of partner systems in the Distribution Environment Support System (DESS) federation, schedule preparation, providing force flow data, operational testing, run-up to start of exercise, and exercise execution.  Exercise execution support may require performance of duties outside of normal business hours.

Demonstration Support. Conduct technical presentations or demonstrations within or outside the continental United States to include but not limited to scenario and system set-up, development of presentation materials, and other subject matter expert support.

Training. Conduct JFAST training.  Develop material to conduct training to include but not limited to presentation slides, handouts, web-based tutorials, and other multi-media teaching aids.  Training will be conducted primarily on Scott Air Force Base but may include some travel to other customer sites to conduct training.  Training includes preparation and/or presentation of formal classroom curriculum covering all features of JFAST and additional specialized classes; as required one-on-one specialized coaching or special purpose; periodic refresher sessions designed to maintain and enhance users abilities; and self-paced training materials covering a variety of JFAST topics.  Self-paced materials may be in the form of frequently asked questions, presentation slides, handouts, videos, etc.

Application Administration Support.  Plan, schedule, and support installation of software by United States Transportation Command system administrators on the JFAST servers and client work stations.  Support optimization, operation, backup, recovery, modification, and upgrade of JFAST servers and software.  Debug JFAST software and support testing of software.  Provide Help Desk support to assist functional users troubleshoot and correct JFAST problems.  Assist Government information assurance and network personnel to resolve JFAST-related issues.  Maintain JFAST reference data current.  Provide functional administration of JFAST user accounts.



Information Sharing.  Keep information located on the JFAST Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) web sites current.  These duties include keeping web pages updated with current documents, presentations, training schedules, user account registration procedures, and other JFAST user group materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in a related field

  • Knowledgeable in transportation and logistics information systems
  • Experienced in military transportation planning, military supply chain distribution planning, or military transportation or logistics modeling

  • Working knowledge and experience in using the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System and the Joint Flow and Analysis System for Transportation
  • Eligibility to hold a US Department of Defense security clearance at the secret or higher level


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Masters Degree and two (2) years of experience in planning as a Joint Transportation Plans Officer and/or experience in transportation modeling and simulation
  • Command and Staff College
  • Previous experience in the US Military Adaptive Planning and Execution process from the deliberate planning perspective
  • Functional expertise on the Joint Flow and Analysis System for Transportation
  • Current Comptia A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
  • Previous experience in platform instruction
