Job Summary:

This position is mainly focused on the Aseptic and ESL machines for Beverages, Dairy and Food. The role covers the assigned customer service territory for the North, Central & part of the South America market with occasional support for other subsidiaries worldwide as needed.  Understand this is for Specialized Filling/Capping Machines, if you do not know what this is, dont apply.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in required meetings for start-up of new machines.  

  • Recognize potential issues during machine construction.

  • Planning and managing of manpower during all phases of installation and start-up.

  • Work with spare parts department to improve recommended spare parts list.

  • Support electrical engineering (HMI improvements, debug programs, etc.).

  • Assist in the workshop during the debug and test phase.

  • Participate in FAT.

  • Supervise installation of machines on-site.

  • Startup activities for applications that required aseptic or ESL validation.

  • Train service technicians on all aspects of ESL and Aseptic machines both during assembling stages and on-site install and start-up.

  • Exchange information between engineering departments on proposed improvements and new developments.

  • Develop actions to improve customers production cycles and efficiencies.

  • Follow up on regular maintenance schedules for customers with supervision and participation of Preventive Maintenance works.

  • Assist service technicians with troubleshooting.

  • Audit existing equipment for suggestions on improvements.

  • Work with Retrofit team to propose upgrades and improvements to the customers.

  • Work with Training department to propose and execute Training for Customers Operators and Maintenance Technicians.

  • Work with Training department to create documented training for technicians in areas such as CIPSIP troubleshooting, overhaul, etc.

  • Coordinate with spare parts department to improve recommended overhaul parts list.

  • Recommend yearly maintenance to the customers (CIPSIP overhaul, Rotary Unions, Laminar Flow).

  • Update the Service Manager by written report of progress and/or issues that may have occurred during the service visit.  

  • Assist other subsidiaries (e.g. Serac Asia, Serac in Latin America) with training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Candidate MUST have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in installing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of filling and capping equipment; with extensive experience in aseptic or clean room manufacturing environment. 

  • Strong knowledge of automation with FCS+ control systems, PLC controls (Softlogic Isagraph, Allen Bradley, Siemens) and Servo drives (SEW, Elau, B&R).

  • Candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude.




Knowledge and Skills:

  • Very strong knowledge of the electrical, mechanical, and electronic industrial applications.

  • Candidate should be able to read and understand pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.

  • Candidate MUST be able to troubleshoot and work independently.

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

  • Should be able to use multimeter, oscilloscope, deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, electric-motor diagnostic equipment, and other associated instrumentation to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of Serac equipment. 

  • Fluency with Windows Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Ability to cope in/with stressful situations.

  • Ability to prioritize workload.

  • Excellent Customer Service skills, in person, on the phone and by email.

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Knowledge of Spanish language is a big advantage.

  • Knowledge of French language is an advantage.

  • Good awareness of Health & Safety issues.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an advantage.

  • Willing and able to work occasional weekends and overtime.

  • Willing to self-educate and expand knowledge related to the industry.
  • Must possess personal toolbox with hand-tools (minimum contents to be defined by the company).

  • No Relocation or Sponsorship offered, however, if you reside 1 hour from an airport you are considered, MUST have a passport or the ability to obtain one for travel to Central/South America as required.

  • Position is classified as non-exempt




Working Conditions:

Work is performed largely in an office or climate-controlled warehouse environment. Some hours will be spent at various remote locations. Hours of work are generally during regular business. There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, customer needs and various other business concerns. Out of town and overnight travel, both local and international, is required for business and education, by air and/or auto. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as, the ability to bend, kneel, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. The ability to reach above head, reach below knees, climb, and work at elevation is also required. Depending on scope of work, the exposure to material handling equipment, dust, moderate noise, and the use of personal protective equipment will occur.
