The major functions of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner include clinical practice, education and consultation. The primary responsibility of the NNP is the direct application of clinical expertise to patients and families being managed in a busy level III NICU and several level II specialty care nurseries.
1. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; AND
2. Received passing score on national certifying exam; AND
3. Ability to be licened in the state of IL as a nurse practitioner; AND
4. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation, ACNN; AND
5. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
