Job Title: Rate Analyst

Report Director of LPGSCS


Leggett & Platt, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Rate Analyst for our downtown Chicago, IL. office.  We are looking for an individual with International logistics experience that has exemplary analytical skills, attention to detail reporting to the Director of LPGSCS


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain International Freight Rate database including imports, exports, drays and foreign to foreign trade lanes
  • Source new and expand our dray provider network
  • Work with the team to expand our capabilities with new or existing 3rd Party Service Providers to support Air, Ocean & Dray with the quoting process, SOP development and on boarding process

  • Assist with the Freight invoice Audit process (review, audit, dispute, log, aging statements, etc.)

  • Maintain Carrier Freetime database

  • Maintain Shippers Association database(s)
  • Identify & document Cost Savings opportunities

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with carrier rate negotiations for all modes of transport including export and import shipments (Air, LCL, FCL, Dray)
  • Analyze data from various databases (using Excel, E2OPEN and other data management systems) to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as directed




  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of International Transportation experience

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
