Job Description

Old Dominion Freight Line is recruiting for a Security Analyst III. This role will lead the Security Analysts in securing OD’s network, applications and data in accordance with organization security, privacy and compliance policies. Provide technical expertise to Security Analysts and business teams ensuring the effectiveness of implemented and proposed security solutions.


+ Develop and drive security policies and standards, ensuring the effectiveness of solutions, and providing security consultative services to the organization

+ Design, analyze, monitor and operate security controls for network, applications, and data in accordance with organization security, privacy, and compliance policies

+ Work in close collaboration with other IT areas ensuring the necessary information security standards and policies and solutions are in place throughout the development cycle

+ Play a lead role in the identification of underlying security vulnerabilities threats, resulting in risk and recommended remediation to system owners

+ Lead the review of new and existing systems design projects and procurement for compliance with security standards and architectural plan

+ Perform business risk impact analysis to ensure resources are adequately protected with proper security measures including conducting internal phishing campaigns

+ Write security documentation on technical security assessments, policies, and procedures

+ Manage the appropriate collection and analysis of technical and functional requirements based on use cases and business requirements into security design deliverables

+ Manage the incident response plan including testing and participation as a responder

+ Act as a technical expert and mentor less experienced Security Analysts


+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience

+ 8 years of experience with IT security

+ Knowledge and understanding of information risks concepts and principles as a means of developing and auditing security controls that align with business needs

+ High level of knowledge in key areas of information security such as Vulnerability Management, Intrusion Prevention and Detection, Access Control and Authorization, Policy Enforcement, Application Security, Protocol Analysis, Firewall Management, Incident Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Encryption, Two-Factor Authentication, Web filtering, and Advanced Threat Protection

+ Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows /Active Directory, LDAP, Internet security and network security technologies (TCP/IP, firewalls, Anti-Virus products, etc.) and third party security or audit tools is required

+ Broad foundation of knowledge about Cloud security, with topics ranging from architecture, governance, compliance, operations, encryption, virtualization

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Detail oriented, problem solver

+ Ability to work as a team player

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office

+ Strong interpersonal skills


+ Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

+ Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, OSCP)

+ Experience as a technical lead
