Classroom Technology Support ( CTS ) is responsible for supporting classroom and learning spaces across Loyola’s campuses including usage questions and physical device troubleshooting.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

1. Answers all emergency transfers from the ITS Help Desk.

2. Provides technical support to clients via phone, email, instant messaging, and web conferencing.

3. Dispatches student workers to assist clients in the field.

4. Opens, updates, and closes Help Desk tickets in a timely manner.

5. Monitors the status of all electronic spaces via a remote management system.

6. Tracks events in the campus reservation system and reaches out to organizers regarding possible technology needs.

7. Creates student worker checklist and call log sheets; processes forms and compiles records for easy recall.

8. Maintains the deliverables database; generates a daily report for each campus.

9. Complies weekly support statistics for all electronic spaces.

10. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, digital media, computer science or related field and at least two years of directly relevant experience.


+ Fluent in classroom technologies, comfortable working with computers, and have the ability to effectively use Loyola’s call logging and communication systems.

+ Must be detail oriented, results focused, possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and be able to support change management initiatives.

Language Ability:

+ Excellent and persuasive communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively with external customers and providers, and internal clients at all levels of the University.

+ Core consulting skills such as business writing and presenting, and analytic comparisons.

+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business processes, technical procedures, and user documentation.

+ Ability to develop and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure documentation.

+ Able to communicate technical ideas and concepts to non-technical audiences.

+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

+ Ability to understand and apply concepts such as resource utilization, work effort, percent to complete and project health.

The majority of the work for this position will occur within the standard work week. However, this position will be on-call, and may need to work during off-hours to respond to problems, maintenance, and scheduled projects.

None required, although any type of certification demonstrating expertise in computers, control systems, or help desk administration is a plus.

Computer Skills

+ Be familiar with a variety of technical concepts, practices, and procedures in both the computer and media industries.

+ Sound understanding of operating systems (Windows and Mac), presentation software, and specialized tools such as whiteboards, document cameras, clickers, and tablet devices.

+ Some experience with Adobe Connect, Microsoft Lync, Panopto, and/or Sakai is a plus.
