Project Management Capability, Enabling Senior Consultant, Fulltime

The Project Management (PM) Capability Senior Consultant leads work to design, develop and deploy Project Management solutions which will include PM methods / delivery approaches and tools to support PM delivery.

Work you’ll do

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for developing Project Management method and tools which help Deloitte Consulting consistently implement Deloitte’s Project Management standards on their projects.

To be successful in the role, you need to possess skills in product / project management, people management, relationship building, and strong verbal / written communication skills.

Key job responsibilities include:

+ Develop and maintain deep functional expertise in Project Management (PM) capability methods and delivery approaches

+ Develop functional expertise to support Delivery Enablement sponsored PM tool(s)

+ Deploy tool features and enhancements to increase usage and awareness amongst the consulting practice

+ Establish self as a trusted business advisor and a Project Management SME, become the go to person for business for all things related to Project Management

+ Assist in managing Project Management solution roadmap to meet quarterly deadlines and perform quarterly planning activities

+ Conduct PM capability market assessments for Project Management tools, develop insights, and make recommendations to the practice leadership

+ Develop and maintain project work plans for team’s larger scale quarterly milestone activities

+ Plan and manage solution operational activities for Project Management tool (tool usage, license management, bug fixes, upgrades, system patches etc.)

+ Lead day to day interactions with virtual teams in agile fashion (sprint planning, scrum touchpoints, retrospective)

+ Liase ad-hoc with software vendors to facilitate the completion of market assessments or to support current PM tool(s) open issues

+ Drive the completion of change management impacts for PM method and enabling tool deployments

+ Train and develop junior resources using PM knowledge and expertise

Qualifications

Required:

+ Experience in leading or facilitating project management office responsibilities on consulting client engagements (ex. reporting status to leadership for project/program progress to plan and project control status)

+ Experience in design, development and implementing packaged applications

+ Working knowledge of agile and traditional (waterfall) methodology and concepts

+ Excellent PowerPoint presentation and storyboarding skills

+ Strong communicator with the ability to facilitate feedback gathering

+ Product management knowledge (Strategy, Market Intelligence, Product Development, Lifecycle Management, Innovation)

+ Analytical thinker and problem solver

+ Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction

+ Experience working in a virtual and global environment and with

+ Ability to manage many different tasks and conflicting priorities

+ Process-oriented with the ability to learn new tools and processes quickly

+ Possess great attention to detail and produces high quality deliverables

+ Promotes Process Improvement

+ Strong MS Office skills; Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint

Preferred:

+ Experience working with program management

+ Experience in Micro focus tools like: Micro focus Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), Micro Focus Octane, Micro focus Application lifecycle management (ALM)

+ Experience with SaaS PM tools (Smartsheets)

+ Experience working with technical developers in virtual environment

+ MS Project certification

+ PMP certification

+ CSM/PSM certification
