Job Description

Kelly Scientific is seeking a Laboratory Technician – Assay Manufacturing in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Direct Hire

Compensation: $45,000/year

Shift: Monday – Friday 9am-5pm


Production planning

+ Creating a production schedule of each kit based on current inventory and anticipated demand.

+ Checking stock of all raw materials and purchasing any materials that are running low.

ELISA kit manufacturing

+ Product manufacturing including careful dispensing of reagents, accurate labeling, and ensuring consistency across various production runs. Includes operating semi-automated equipment.

+ Final assembly of kit components including packaging

+ Accurately documenting information as required

Quality control

+ In process testing of individual components during kit manufacturing

+ Lot release testing to ensure consistency across kits

+ Troubleshooting any quality issues to find out where the issue stems from and how to resolve it.

Other operational tasks

• As a lean company, we rely on everybody to help out where needed. This will involve helping with shipping, order processing, and other operations related tasks.


• BS degree in in the life Sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related major

• Previous experience to indicate basic knowledge of laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, micro-pipettes, pH meters, microscopes, etc. This could be school related experience, or previous work experience.

Skills required:

• Self-motivated, quick learner

• Strong problem solver able to make informed independent decisions and seek guidance when necessary

• Skilled at navigating around computers and learning new technologies

• Team player who enjoys working in a small business environment and willing to adapt roles as necessary

• Strong communication skills

• Detail oriented
