Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking to hire a Second Shift Manufacturing Maintenance Helper with the mechanical ability to maintain production through the safe operation of mechanical equipment. In this entry level position, you will report directly to our Branch Maintenance Supervisor at our Aurora, IL facility. If you are eager to learn, we are willing to train skilled candidates.

What you’ll be doing:

Fabricating and fixing mechanical parts.
Working with grinding machines, blades, general machinery, conveyors, pumps, loading dock equipment, air lines, hydraulic motors.
Assisting in the installation, service and repair of production equipment, electric motors and other related equipment using various hand and power tools of the maintenance trade.
Performing regular preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating and servicing a wide variety of production machines and equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Understand and follow safety programs such as lock out/tag out, ladder safety etc.

A few things you’ll need:

Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Motors and Conveyors.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime and on Saturdays, which is a requirement.
Capability of standing, walking, bending, twisting and squatting for long periods of time.
Ability to work overhead, on the ground, or in tight spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Reliable transportation.
Personal tools.
