DESCRIPTION / OPPORTUNITY
The real estate market is undergoing significant and exciting changes driven by innovations in data and technology. Digital and Technology powered products play a vital role in CBRE’s mission to create unmatched value for our clients. Every year, CBRE invests heavily in the improvement and growth of its technology portfolio. These global technology programs are highly complex and have a high-risk profile proportionate to the rewards and value expected to be realized upon completion. These programs require the maturity, foresight, and tenacity of a seasoned Engagement Director to ensure successful delivery.
Directly oversees multiple teams of technology professionals and projects focusing on design, development, and deployment of applications. Provides leadership and direction to D&T and business units in developing and maintaining effective and efficient programs. Develops strategy and technical roadmaps for business applications and for all business applications support.Utilizing Agile development methodologies, this manager will work with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Program Management to collaborate and develop exciting products. Works closely with partner application teams and oversees vendor development/support teams. Serves as liaison to business units as needed. Participates in the sales pursuit process as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Manage highly productive teams of development and quality assurance engineers distributed geographically to deliver high quality software products.
+ Provide Technology leadership and guidance to the team and lead Architecture decisions and provide strategy around DevSecOps
+ Take an active role in driving projects with an execution mindset in fast-paced dynamic environment
+ Executes on continuous improvement of the existing software applications and architecture.
+ Technical leadership to resolve development and application issues, performance levels and career development
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features·
+ Provide leadership in security remediation activities and mentor team on secure programing practices.
+ Plans, implements, and controls multiple digital & technology projects. Ensures that project plans are executed within cost and time constraints. Reports project performance and status to upper management.
+ Involved in contract and pricing negotiations and drive technology roadmap with partners and vendors.
+ Works with the business and other technology partners to discuss and understand the implications of digital & technology initiatives for their department.
+ Keeps abreast of technological changes and innovations in the software/application development field.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of eight to twelve years of experience developing enterprise-class software products, including experience at the management level.
+ ·Prior hands-on Development experience developing enterprise applications in one of the following languages: C++, .Net, Python, Java and SQL/no-SQL technologies
+ ·Experience with frameworks like ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS and designing MicroService/Event driven architecture
+ ·Experience with cloud migration and managing the development of cloud-based applications and development of APIs, web services
+ ·Experience working in a CI/CD development environment with focus on developing CD pipelines to Cloud and On-Prem infrastructure.
+ ·Advanced knowledge and experience with the full software development lifecycle, in particular with Agile and iterative development practices and associated tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps etc
+ ·Ability and willingness to be hands on in software development and technical issues
+ ·Well organized, extraordinary communication and presentation skills- effective communicator/presenter to groups of all sizes and levels of management.
+ ·Ability to link vision and strategy with overall business objectives and communicate rationale in a compelling, concise manner.

Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate’s recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company’s values.
