Electronics Test Engineering (ETE) designs, integrates, and deploys test solutions for development, qualification, and production testing of avionic electronic devices. The organization is a cross-functional team of Project Engineers, Circuit Engineers, Software Engineers, and Test Requirement Engineers. Our team provides a shared service that supports the Program and Product teams, as well as Production facilities around the world.
In this position, your primary responsibility is for all aspects of computer assets used to support test engineering. These are not computers supplied by corporate IT, but they must comply with corporate IT policy. In many cases, these computers support non-standard internal/external computer peripherals such as avionics communications cards, National Instruments hardware, or programming stations. These computers are primarily used in engineering labs and production facilities. The ideal candidate will develop an understanding of our products and services, and how the computer assets support those solutions to better serve our customers.
This position is OnsitePrimary Responsibilities:
The primary role for this position is support of our computer assets with the following responsibilities:
+ Ensuring compliance to corporate IT policy
+ Close interaction with DXC & IT/DT
+ Ordering/building/maintaining test computer resources
+ Maintaining and ensuring compliance to license agreements
+ Review existing software for upgrades and improve instructions and equipment as needed
+ Administration of deployed computer assets
+ Support department user base for all things PC
+ Interfaces with appropriate vendors of hardware and software as needed
+ Work with vendors and end users to analyze issues and identify solutions
+ Oversee application and operational upgrades
+ Standard work development
Secondary responsibilities (as time allows) will be to work with the software engineering team on various development or support projects.
Secondary software responsibilities of this position include:
+ Architect and develop software used to perform testing of electronic hardware and to support Smart Factory initiatives
+ Participate in the requirements and design of test equipment
+ Integration and troubleshooting of test solutions
+ Develop and maintain product documentation
+ Develop and improve software processes
+ Work in a cross-functional, agile team that includes project, circuit, software, requirement, and product engineersBasic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
+ Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
+ In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ MCSE or equivalent Certification
+ 5 years of experience in corporate computer support role
+ Experience in software development environments
+ Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages
+ Experience with software repositories, such as Subversion or GIT
+ Experience working independently with little direction to drive results
+ Ability to work under stress and time pressures, meeting schedules and time lines
+ Able to analyze problems, needs, capabilities and limitations of the computer system
+ Available to remotely support critical computer needs outside of core hours.
+ Ability to routinely lift/move computers and associated peripherals, including industrial rack mount computers.
+ Experience in C#, Python, XML, SQL, and similar programming language(s)
+ Experience working in Windows and Linux operating systems
+ Experience with National Instruments hardware products
+ CNA or equivalent certification
+ Bachelors or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
+ Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering will be considered with appropriate PC and software technical experience
