Nutrition & Health is seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Gibson City, IL. As an Operator in this location, you will work in a unionized, industrial production environment. Rotating shift work, as well as weekends and holidays, are required. Twelve-hour and/or swing shifts may be required for some positions. We offer a competitive benefits package. The Laboratory Technician performs laboratory analyses/operations such as for product quality, in-process samples, effluents, and materials testing in support of manufacturing operations, and/or supports chemists, in operations of laboratories, test/pilot facilities and in performing laboratory analyses.
Key responsibilities:
• Perform according to established company procedures, policies, ISO requirements, and legal requirements. Every day performance of duties in this position must be done in an ethical manner with safety and product integrity as the primary responsibilities.
• Work in a team environment and be responsible for equipment, as well as, set up, operation, calibration, routine maintenance and trouble shooting of laboratory instrumentation.
• Conduct Analytical analyses supporting Production and Product Development Departments which include raw material, in-process, and finished-product testing.
• Operate laboratory information management system (LIMS) to track all samples submitted.
Job Requirements
Qualifications include:
• Associates degree in biology or chemistry, or another science field, or 2 years of lab experience.
• Must have knowledge and experience with lab instrumentation
• Ability to troubleshoot lab instruments independently
• Must be proficient with use of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on excel
• Willing to face a challenging and fast changing environment
