Job Summary
Provide excellent customer service; registering and scheduling the patient with accuracy. Represent the clinic in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college preferred; previous office/customer service experience and/or training in medical setting preferred; medical terminology; or a combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear and must have finger dexterity. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Greet patients in a positive and friendly manner. Smiling and making eye contact when they approach the desk.
Register new and established patients when they present for an appointment to verify their demographic and insurance information, make appropriate changes. Secure appropriate signature(s).
Inform patient of any co-pays due, receive payments, and give general information regarding patient accounts. Refer to Patient Services when needed.
Balance cash drawer accurately and prepare for deposit. Comply with standard accounting procedures.
Process all work queues in a timely manner; including registration, referral, and orders work queues as applicable to department.
Practice professional phone etiquette with patients and staff; including professional greeting, warm transfers, effectively utilizing and managing In Basket (creating complete messages and responding in a timely manner).
Make ongoing calls to: confirm or cancel appointments; order films; request consult forms; schedule ancillary services as instructed.
Accurately schedule and perform workflows required per department/provider.
Other duties may be assigned.
