Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid state license depending on clinic location (IL, IA, or MO); CPR certification.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; one to two years of previous related experience in a clinical setting preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, must have finger dexterity, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Escort patients to proper room and prepare patient for exam. Take vital signs, review medications, preferred pharmacy, family history, social history including tobacco use, and allergies. Documents thorough and objective patient information.
Assist provider with office exams, diagnostic treatment and procedures. Administer medications, injections, as directed by Provider.
Make necessary outgoing calls for referral appointments, medication refills and other needs for patient care. Ensure that accurate information is obtained and communicated to the provider and other licensed team members. Ensure that the patient understands Provider instructions regarding medications, treatment plan, diet, and procedures.
Receive incoming calls. Check electronic medical record, In basket, and voicemail messages throughout the day.
Ensure ancillary tests, procedures, and/or surgeries are scheduled as ordered by the Provider. Complete pre-certification form for surgeries and other required tests/procedures.
Ensure test results and correspondence from other organizations is given to Provider for review. Under the guidance of the Provider, notify patients of results by using patient portal, phone, or letter. Track ancillary tests by working the Work Ques. Follow up on the Overdue Folder and contact patients to reschedule tests as needed.
Keep office area clean, orderly, well-stocked, and monitor supplies for expiration date. Sterilize instruments and equipment. Assist in maintaining equipment, remove and tag broken equipment and notify the coordinator.
Cross train and covers co-workers hours and duties as needed.
Acts as a patient coach to patients including vulnerable patient populations by offering self-management support and care coordination.
Other duties may be assigned.
