This position is 100 percent travel. You will work for 40 hours with Saturdays/Sundays off. Travel will be 4-6 weeks with 1 week off at home. All Federal holidays off and paid vacation. All travel expenses paid with per diem. Benefits offered.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs complex quality control inspection activities on assigned airfield or aviation related construction projects to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with Parsons and/or client requirements. Position requires 100% travel with paid travel expenses. Work will be conducted primarily in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area (AZ, NM, TX, LA, OK, AR, MO, KS, NE, IA, SD, ND, MN, IL, IN, OH, MI). May also include travel to other project locations within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other locations where air traffic is managed by the US Federal Aviation Administration may be required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Assurance or related field and typically 4+ years related construction experience. Alternatively, a High School/Trade School diploma and equivalent work experience (10+ years) is required.

Experience providing construction/technical inspections for navigational aids, airfield communications systems, and/or other air traffic control systems is required.

Airfield experience is highly preferred.

Candidates should have experience in Civil, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, and general construction projects. Fluency in OSHA construction safety requirements and risk management is required.

Candidates should be highly competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical orders and standards and instructions.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

+ Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of project stakeholders.

+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company.

+ Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation.

+ Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access. Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

+ This position requires some night and weekend shift work as necessary to facility airfield construction during off-peak airfield usage times.

+ Requires a security background check by the Federal Aviation Administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to the Parsons Project Manager and Project Management Team.

Provides technical oversight of airfield construction and electronics installation projects to ensure subcontractor adherence to contractual requirements.

Documents deficiencies and non-conformances and communicates issues to the project management team and project owner/client.

Attends weekly status meetings. Provides updates on subcontractor progress and elevates issues to project management team.

Ensures adherence to airfield safety and security requirements. Ensures adherence to Risk Management Plans.

Documents and records construction progress though daily and weekly reports and photographs.

Performs varying construction quality assurance tests and collects quality control reports and information from the subcontractor.

Identifying issues affecting the progress of construction and help to resolve these issues.

Salary Range:

$27.36 – $47.88
