Resident Project Representative

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a candidate to fill a full time Resident Project Representative position in our Springfield, Illinois office.
Position Profile
As a Resident Project Representative (RPR), you’ll be part of a growing Hanson environment while working on an exciting and challenging project as part of a collaborative, experienced and diverse team. You will have the opportunity to provide construction observation and project administrative services focusing on building structures.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
+ Representing owner in monitoring construction activities
+ Interpret building plans and specifications
+ Review shop drawings and pay applications
+ Review, track and coordinate the resolutions of Requests for Information (RFI’s)
+ Detailed and accurate documentation of all aspects of the construction
+ Interaction with project team members, including owners, design professional, contractors, subcontractors, surveyors and materials testing personnel.
+ Scheduling and assisting with progress meetings
+ Assist with the effective resolution of contract issues, timely completion of contract documentation and ability to make adjustments or changes within established policies
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Ability to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills
+ Communicate professionally, clearly and efficiently with team members
+ Must be self-motivated
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
+ High School Diploma/equivalent; an associate degree in civil engineering technology program or two years of college in engineering, pre-engineering, architecture or civil technology is a plus
+ 5 years of construction observation and contract administration experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture
+ 10+ years of building construction observation and contract administration experience
Working at Hanson:
+ This position has a periodic and variable project work schedule. However, typical work hours would be Mon-Fri, with potential for occasional weekend work. Hours vary based on project demands including potential required overtime. Compensation is provided for overtime.
