GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for the management and oversight of Corporate Responsibility programs that focus on utilizing innovative solutions to reach underestimated, undervalued, and disinvested communities and small businesses. Will lead strategic organizational efforts while building strong, positive relationships with executive leaders and external partners. This position requires the knowledge and ability to partner with a broad variety of internal constituents, functional skills and senior leaders across regional leadership, Risk Management, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, HR, and Technologies, among others.

Responsible for leading all aspects of the day-to-day oversight, supervision, and management of programs, which includes but is not limited to sales/marketing, credit, operations, compliance, finance, policies and procedures, account management, vendor management, and technology.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic business planning and goal management for program initiatives. Develops and manages a market coverage plan for these responsibilities.

Develop key communications and presentations to senior level internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies while mitigating reputational and operational risks.

Participate with CED managers, regional and LOB managers, as necessary, in meetings with key community development stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, customers, funders, and others, and where appropriate, to support strategic initiatives.

Develop program reports and evaluates program performance.

Identify potential areas of performance vulnerability and risk and direct activities to ensure the development and implementation of action plans to address.

Stay abreast of regulatory and best practice changes within the industry and make recommendations for new program development to align with industry changes/trends (as necessary).

Effectively engage local CED leadership in execution of initiatives. Ensure local efforts to support lending and service are built into region market execution plans.

Assist LOB Partners and region CED leaders in developing and/or maximizing innovative lending and service strategies that meet community needs and generates CRA business opportunities.

Develop and provide analytic tools and regulatory guidance to aid business partners in goal setting, strategic planning, and execution.

Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing employees timely, and candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth and recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

MBA preferred; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

10+ years preferred of Corporate Responsibility/CED Program management.

Possess the knowledge and leadership agility to lead the development and implementation of Corporate Responsibility programs.

Background in Corporate Responsibility, Fair Lending and/or risk management regulatory experience or experience in a large financial services institution.

Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations related to CRA and Fair Lending. Advanced understanding of technical requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and the Interagency CRA Examination Procedures (IEP).

Demonstrated experience and awareness of Community Development, Community Giving, non-profit management and engagement.

Strong strategic and analytical skills with quick decision skills. Ability to analyze reports to assess performance and effectively communicate results to senior leaders.

Demonstrated excellence in building relationships and influencing without authority, across complex, highly matrixed environment.

Demonstrated success in anticipating, and setting direction in ambiguous, unstructured, and unconventional situations.

Ability to engage professionally and assertively with senior executives, to garner credibility and sponsorship.

Excellent communication skills (written, oral, PowerPoint creation and delivery). Effectively communicates upward, downward, and laterally.

High level of integrity required for handling confidential information.

Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment and apply logical and critical thought processes when developing and recommending solutions.

Demonstrates working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) without assistance and minimal supervision.

Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to facilitate training at leader and employee level

Attend industry-related conferences and meetings and training or educational opportunities to ensure relevant skills are maintained.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal Office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.

Extended viewing of a CRT screen.

Travel required up to 40%.
