Description

A Regional Maintenance Manager oversees personnel, hiring, development, safety, training, discipline, parts procurement, and inventory control. They are ultimately responsible for maintenance, repair, and management of side loaders, forklifts, hostlers, rubber tire gantry cranes, reach stackers, and other machinery as needed.
This role reports to the General Manager - Chicago.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance in all safety, health, environmental regulations, training, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
Oversee the repair and maintenance functions of the group, maximizing equipment availability.
Provide guidance and direction to internal team by establishing goals and objectives for improving operational and financial performance.
Manage all ramp maintenance and repair work in accordance with customer-defined requirements. Meet or exceed budget goals in every area of operations; responsible for delivering expectations on all goals surrounding expenses and revenues to maintain established profit margin.
Manage all aspects of facility inventories; including meeting corporate established inventory goals which include maximum dollar value by facility, management of non-moving inventory, and inventory accuracy by facility.
Create processes, procedures and measurement for inspections, maintenance, equipment tracking, and labor utilization to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency across all ramps within region.
Manage labor and ramp inventory to ensure on-time completion of all maintenance and service in a 24x7 environment. Provide technical support and training while providing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports.
Manage all company owned assets; this will include company vehicles, man lifts, forklift, and tooling.


Requirements
Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not a requirement
Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
Minimum of ten years of experience managing M&R, fleet, and heavy equipment maintenance
The ability to travel as needed to support operations
Strong analytical background and its applications in the field
Ability to read variable schematic logic for both low- and high-voltage electrical and a variety of hydraulics is preferred, but not a requirement.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies and testing experience
Ability to communicate, educate, and motivate staff
Ability to meet deadlines, create reports, define analytics, and create key performance indicators (KPIs) that help foster safety in the workplace, support innovation, and create the opportunity for cost savings, profitability, and service excellence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of ERP's such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics would be preferred
Strong problem solving and process improvement skills
Ability to pass a background and drug test, per Class 1 Railroad and E-Railsafe protocols

Hours
REMPREX is a 24/7/365 operation. This is a full time role, and hours worked will encompass the hours needed to ensure staff and fleet needs meet both REMPREX and clients' standards. Individuals in this role must be available on a on-call basis to address issues, repairs, or incidents as needed.
This role may require the individual to travel.
Work Environment
This role works both in an office and outdoors. Occasionally, the Regional Maintenance Manager may need to access the corporate network from home through company-issued equipment.
