Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: The Biomedical Manager is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment. The duties also include oversight and administration of all aspects of the Medical equipment Management Program in accordance with DNV standards, reporting for the Safe Medical Device Act. Evaluating and coordinating medical equipment service contracts. Assisting Director with annual operating and capital budgets. Providing input on the selection of capital medical equipment. Performing staff annual evaluations. Work load assignments for Biomed staff. Assist Director with system Recalls and Vendor device corrections. Oversee system device service contracts- Review, Negotiate cost and upload contracts into contract repository(Ntracts). Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field or Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Experience in Lieu of Education – 10 years Experience CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS CBET within 1 year EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Five years of Biomedical Engineering Industry SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Familiarity with NFPA, DNV, IDPH and other applicable codes and standards. Ability to manage a diverse workforce. Essential Functions:+ Ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards.
+ Provides regulatory inspectors with data required during inspection process.
+ Assist Director in preparing operating and capital budget.
+ Creates and oversees Quality Improvement measures.
+ Assist Director in evaluating medical technology for Capital Acquisition process.
+ Assists maintaining equipment and supplies.
+ Prepares annual staff evaluations.
+ Assist Director with FDA Maude reporting per SMDA99 guidelines.
+ Assist Director with DNV survey interview.
+ Assist Director with TAC committee/Cyber Security
+ Assist Director with device recall and corrections.
+ Oversee System service contracts
+ Lends assistance to other hospital departments related to medical equipment
+ Coordinates the activities of Biomedical engineering staff for timely and accurate completion of preventative and corrective maintenance
+ Ensures accurate record keeping of department activities
+ Analyzes repair and maintenance data for trends and patterns
+ Prepares Action Plans to address issues related to medical equipment
+ Staff education planning
+ Oversee test equipment calibrations
